Loss Of Confidence And Workplace Issues Case Study

Client Background
An individual in their late 40s approached therapy after experiencing a loss of confidence at work. Despite a successful career in finance, they felt increasingly disconnected, doubting their abilities and value in the workplace. There was a strong inner critic at play, with a narrative of “not good enough” driving perfectionism and burnout.

Therapeutic Focus
Together we explored the internalised expectations shaped by early experiences — including a high-achieving family culture where emotional needs were often overlooked. We worked with self-compassion and identity, using integrative relational and systemic approaches to untangle old patterns and introduce healthier narratives.

Outcome
Through therapy, the client gained clarity on their values and began to reframe their relationship with work. They made decisions from a place of self-trust, not fear, and began exploring new opportunities with greater confidence and authenticity.
